The dynamic of a church family is different to everybody. But the love and care you get from your church family is consistent. I want to tell you about how special my church family is to me. When I was born we lived in Colorado. So we lived very far from all of our family, who mostly lived in Iowa and Chicago. Although our church was a very loving church and we by no means felt left out or unloved, two members in particular took us under their wings. Now let me tell you a little something about these two. Jack was the kind of guy who wrote his own book. He would ride is golf cart all over the place, including mainstreet Delta (which isn't exactly busy...but you get the idea). Mittie was kind and loving, and always supplied cookies. I became so close with them that i began calling them grandma and grandpa. They although they weren't my real grandparents treated me like their grandaughter. That is what a church family is to me. Just recently Mittie passed away. It's not till these things happen that you realize just how much you loved these people. Although we can't be 100% sure it's always a good thing when someone dies, and you know you'll see them again.
