We do this thing call an ATL and it´s an Ask The Lord. And you just go to the Lord and ask him what he wants you to do. On one of the first ones we did here. We felt as though God was leading us to the Central Park and so we went. We were just walking around and praying for guidance. We walked past this lady that looked extremly nervous. When we walked past her my heart dropped. I just knew God wanted me to talk to her. So i turned around and took our translator Natalia with me. It turns out her child which she let me hold was sick. By the way this little girl was the most adorable thing ever. Anyways this child had been pooping out blood for the past 3 weeks, and wasn´t getting better. So then went into telling us that she had tooken her to a doctor and he said he couldn´t do anything and that she should take her to a witch doctor. So the lady took her to the witch doctor. The witch doctor told her to take a man that had been sweating a lot and take his sweaty shirt and wrap it around the daughter and set her out in the sun to dry. The lady said she had done that also 3 days ago, and she was still sick. Me and our translator Natalia, Jen and Joe then prayed for the little girl. I don´t know if the little girl will or has gotten better. Even if she doesn´t that lady saw the friendlyness of strangers and the comitment we had to God. Even that is enough. It would be amazing if you all could pray for that lady and her daughter. On a another ATL we did we went and prayed over doors of a school. And not the outside the inside.... the doors to classrooms. It was pretty amazing. In that same day we met a friend her name was Marina. She is an amazing lady that we plan on visiting again. We felt led to go and talk to her, and we did. It was a little difficult communicating with her though. We didn´t have a translator that day, and on top of that she was nearly deaf. But she just had the most amazing heart. She just loved Jesus! And it was such an inspiration for us. I just thought it was so cool how we went out to help others and God turned the tables on us, and we ended up getting helped.
So we have had a really good past two weeks. Every morning monday through friday we go to El Puente. Which is the mission base here. We go there for dicipleship classes. We just finished going through the book Victory over the Darkness, and it was interesting. I want to tell you about a little boy. Now these childrem are required to come learn about Jesus at this feeding program and then they are give tickets for meals to get during the week. Now they had just finished the lesson. And the teachers were handing out drinks and cookies. Let me go off in a little side story. Cups are to expensive here so if you get a drink at the park or anywhere but really a restaurant it´ll come a little bag that´s tied around a straw and then you drink it. I think that´s very interesting but anyways so this little boy was given a cookie and a drink. I asked him why he wasn´t eating his snack, and he said he was taking it home to share with his mom. Then a few minutes later he asked us if we wanted to share. It just amazed me so much how he would offer to give away his dinner. I´m excited becasue tomorow we get to start teaching ESL classes, which is teaching english as a second language. We´re starting our fourth week here and it´s really cool the realtionships we´re building up here, because you can just walk down the street and say high to people.
I leave you with one final note. Yesterday we got to go to Managua, and i got a little bit of home....i got Burger King!
