The end of
another week! Wow the time is flying by it is almost 2 months till Christmas.
So on Sunday depending on what week of the month is, decides what church
we go to. On the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month we go to El Puente, on
the other weeks we go to either Torre de Fuertes or Resturection. All of
these churches are Evangelical. And I forgot to mention this before but I
have had a few opportunities to sing on two praise teams here. I have
sang on the Torre de Fuertes once and the El Puente one a few times, which
might I add has little to no warning when I am going to be singing. But anyway so we started out this week with
going to El Puente for church. I find it
very interesting that they pretty much sing the same songs as we do it is just
translated into Spanish. But they do
also sing some other songs that I have never heard before, and they just make
me want to dance. These churches we go
to may be small, but you have never seen people so on fire for Christ. But then you have to take a step back and
look at the amount of people who go to these churches. When you compare it to how many people go to
the Catholic churches, there is no comparison. On Sunday we also got to go to Maysa. A town about 20 minutes away. It
is more or less known for the Arts and Culture Market their. So for a day we got to go be tourist. In our discipleship classes this week Charles
the AIM mission base sponsor in Granada came and talked to us. He first talked about submission and how it is
not a negative thing, but should be beautiful thing. We then went through the first three chapters
of the book Right with God. We also had
class this week with one of our leaders Jaime, over the book Celebration of Discipline,
where we focused on the chapter of Submission. On Monday we taught ESL class at Collegio San Antonio, which is turning
out to be one of my favorite ministries. They are just the coolest kids ever. They help me with my Spanish and I help them with their English. We were
suppose to do ESL class on Tuesday to, but we had a little hiccup in scheduling
so it did not happen. But we will be
there next week. On Wednesday we did
trash pick up. And surprisingly the
street is starting to look better. Once again
all these adorable little kids came out and wanted to help us. On Wednesday night as a team we had the most
amazing worship. We were just singing,
and playing songs on people iPods'. And
then it started to rain. And I mean
rain! When it rains here it just absolutely
downpours. So what did we do? We went outside and sang and jumped up and
down in the rain, we just worshiped God. In a way I think we all needed that time just to be free. Because here we are past the point of just
seeing the beauty of this country, we now see the filth, poverty and
sadness. We are getting sick of rice,
and we just miss home. But God reminded
us why we are here. We are here to serve
him and him only. We are not here to satisfy our own worldly selfish needs. We were put on this earth to worship
God. And when we start to stray away he
always reminds us how good we have it. I
want to leave with this verse from Proverbs
