Hello all! Wow how the time flies! My team and me have a little bit over 2 weeks left here in Nicaragua until we go home for Christmas. We only have one week left in Granada. And for our last week in Nicaragua we will be going to the island of Ometepe. We will be there for a week working at an orphanage. Then we will return to Granada for a couple days of debriefing, and then off to the Managua airport. After Christmas we will be returning to Granada.
So this week we started of the week on going to Casa de la Mujer. Which is a place where women can go and learn valuable tools for there life. Like learning how to cook, sew or operate a computer, and even cutting hair. So basically a lot of everything. We went to Casa de la Mujer to set up ministries for when we return after Christmas. Although nobodies ministries are set in stone, some of the things you would be doing if you worked there would be going into the slums, and doing workshops or just simply being there friends.
And then on Wednesday due to not having the right trash bags (the trash men will only pick up a certain kind) we focused on only doing children's ministry. Which I must go into further detail of one of the wonderful games. It was a sponge race. Where you have two lines with two buckets of water and each team has a sponge. The object of the game is to see which team can fill up a cup of water to a line first. But we decided to add a fun little twist to the game, which would be putting the cup on Sarah and Jen's head. We got a little moist. Then at the end of the game i took my cup of water on my team. And in response to that they dumped and entire bucket of water on me. So then i was very wet. Also at children's ministry we did a skit which is pictured above, and some songs.
And on Thursday was THANKSGIVING. And we did celebrate it the American way, with turkey, cranberry jello, pumkin pie and much more. So we had a pretty good day. We had that day off. It was a really good day of rest. And we also got to share our Thanksgiving dinner with one of translators Mario and some of the guys from El Puente.
Now for Friday. We have been reading a book recently called the Celebration of Dicipline. And in that book is a chapter on Solitude. The description of Solitude in that book is simply getting away and spending time with God. And basically just listening to what he has to say. So today we went to the mountain with the cross. And we spent the morning in Solitude. And what did God tell you ask. He told me to be patient. Funny because I am not patient at all. Then we came back to town and we spent the rest of the day in Solitude.
Thank you so much for your prayers, In Him....Sarah
